Frida Kahlo-inspired Collaborative Wings Mural …using tessellation pieces! A unique community-building activity for teachers and students. This resource includes English and Spanish options. Use it during Hispanic Heritage Month or any time of the year!
This project is fun because your students will do all the work to customize their final mural and then get to stand in front of it and take their picture with Frida Kahlo’s inspirational quote,
“Feet, what do I need you for when I have wings to fly?”
“Pies, ¿ para qué los quiero si tengo alas para volar?”
Feather Tessellation Pieces: Included are 10 designs and a blank piece. It’s important to note that you will need right-side AND left-side pieces to make a complete set of wings
12 Biography Tessellation Pieces: Additional biographical pieces are included as an option you can use for Hispanic Heritage Month (or any time of the year).
ratings and counting!
My students and I loved making this mural! They colored the feathers on their own and then we assembled the mural in the library. It was so easy and the results were striking!
