I'm Jenny K.
I was born an artist. I love hearing my family tell stories of when I was young. I would draw and color instead of watching TV.
I would turn found objects into swings or other creative things. I always begged my siblings (5 of us) to be part of my pretend games and star in my “shows.” My parents were forever coming to “shop” at my store – full of creative creations and custom-made currency to purchase said items.Â
I lived my life asking one question, “What if?”Â
Well, not much has changed. I would still rather create and be creative than watch TV. I’m happiest when I’m exploring an idea that came from a “What if?” moment, and I’ve now created a store (TPT) and a website full of my treasures to share with educators and parents so other children can hold on to the artist inside of them.Â
I love making stuff!
I’ve often thought that if there were 4 or 5 of me, I could get everything done in the world I am interested in. If only!!
I am many things. Here, I will be sharing many of these things in one place, and hopefully, you will get some idea of my artistic side. Making life easier for teachers and learning fun for kids!
In addition to supporting educators around the world through Art with Jenny K., I also have the privilege of teaching PreK–8th grade art at St. Michael’s School in Tucson, Arizona.
Every lesson, resource, and idea I share has been shaped by real classroom experience. Each day I get to watch young artists grow—from their very first creative experiences in preschool all the way through middle school—and that journey continues to inspire everything I create.
One of my favorite quotes by Dolly Parton is:
“Find out who you are — and then do it on purpose.”
That simple idea has become a guiding principle for both my teaching and my business. My goal is to help students discover their creativity, give teachers practical resources they can confidently use, and encourage others to embrace the unique gifts they have to share with the world.
I’m always collecting new ideas, testing lessons in my classroom, and creating resources that save teachers time while inspiring creativity.
